Two Pokémon series are currently up for removal on Netflix around the world come April 1st, 2019 or March 31st depending on where you live. Here’s why you should be watching the two series, why they’re leaving and the current status of Pokémon titles on Netflix.
The two series are up for renewal around the world on April 1st and by all accounts, do look to be removed by the time April rolls around.
Both of these series were added to Netflix on April 1st, 2017 meaning once they leave, the two series will have been available for two years on Netflix.
Removal date on Pokémon XYZ
Here’s a look at the two series that are scheduled for removal:
Pokémon XY (2 seasons – 93 episodes)
Pokémon XY aired originally from 2015 and ran across two seasons across 93 episodes which average at around 21 minutes an episode.

Pokémon XYZ (Season 1 – 48 episodes)
The newer of the two series is XYZ that aired in 2016 only has one season but is 48 episodes long once again averaging 21 minutes an episode.
Here’s how the series
As Ash and his allies explore the Kalos region, they encounter friends and foes, including Team Flare and a mysterious Mega Evolution Trainer.
Why is Pokémon leaving Netflix?
We must stress that not all Pokémon titles are scheduled to leave Netflix. Instead, it’s just the XY and XYZ series at this time. Titles come and go on Netflix all the time and unless they’re Netflix Originals, they’re on limited contracts. It’s then down to Netflix and in this case, CJ Entertainment to come up with an agreement to keep the series streaming.
Don’t forget that Pokémon is particularly popular at the moment with the upcoming release of the live-action movie featuring Ryan Reynolds.
Netflix still has plenty of Pokémon titles left on Netflix with hundreds of hours of content still available.
